everything on the soft girl summer agenda

Summer is officially here and I am beyond excited! Although my heart belongs to autumn, I really do love the summer months and this months I’m making it my mission to thrive in the sun. I’ve put together a list of a few things that I personally think should be on every soft girls summer agenda! I’m talking self-care, sunsets and so many cocktails. So, if you’ve been looking for some ideas fow how to live your best life this summer, I got you angel. Let’s get into it.

more body positivity.

Summer has a way of making people feel like they need to change themselves before they can fully enjoy it. The pressure to achieve a certain body type before wearing the bikini, booking the holiday, or taking the photo can be exhausting.

This season, the focus is on embracing the body that exists right now. Body positivity isn’t about loving every part of yourself every day—it’s about treating yourself with kindness, respect, and compassion. The best summer memories aren’t reserved for people who look a certain way.

spf all day, everyday.

If there’s one beauty habit worth prioritising this summer, it’s SPF. Do yourself a favour and try incorporating this habit every day, your skin will thank you! And you’ll be glowy – winner winner, chicken dinner.

Daily sun protection helps reduce the risk of skin cancer while protecting against premature ageing, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. SPF isn’t just for beach days or holidays abroad—it’s an everyday essential.

keeping your hair hydrated.

Between sunshine, sea water, chlorine, and heat styling, summer can be particularly tough on hair. Keeping hair hydrated doesn’t have to mean an overly complicated routine. A nourishing hair oil, regular conditioning treatments, and minimising excessive heat can help maintain softness and shine throughout the season.

getting through the tbr.

There is something undeniably cosy about summer reading. Whether it’s a romance by the pool, a thriller on a long journey, or a personal development book enjoyed in the garden, summer offers the perfect opportunity to spend more time with books.

Rather than focusing on reading as many books as possible, the goal is simply to make more time for reading and finally tackle some of those long-awaited titles sitting on the shelf.

switching to summer skincare.

As the seasons change, skincare routines often need to change too. Products that feel comforting during colder months can sometimes feel too heavy in warmer weather.

Summer is the ideal time to focus on lightweight hydration, daily SPF, gentle exfoliation, and supporting the skin barrier. The aim isn’t flawless skin—it’s skin that feels healthy, comfortable, and cared for.

saying ‘yes’ more.

Some of the best summer memories happen when people step outside of their usual routines. Saying yes to the coffee date, the day trip, the evening walk, or the spontaneous invitation can lead to experiences that might otherwise have been missed.

Not every opportunity will become a core memory, but every experience adds something valuable. A soft girl summer isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about being open to life.

nourishing over punishing.

For many people, health and wellness have become associated with restriction, guilt, and the idea of having to “earn” rest or enjoyment. You don’t need to earn your soft girl summer, it just exists. Let the pressure go and truly enjoy yourself.

A softer approach focuses on nourishment instead. Choosing foods that support wellbeing, staying hydrated, moving the body regularly, prioritising sleep, and practising self-care all contribute to feeling healthier without relying on punishment or extremes.
