There’s something magical about entering a new era. Not because everything suddenly changes overnight, but because you’ve made a decision. A decision that you’re no longer willing to settle for a life that feels out of alignment with who you truly are.
Whenever people talk about creating their dream life, they usually jump straight to the goals. Lose the weight. Find the relationship. Start the business. Save the money. Pass the test. Book the holiday.
While goals are wonderful, I think we’re often asking the wrong question.
Instead of asking, “What do I want?”
Try asking, “Who am I becoming?”
Because the truth is that our lives are often a reflection of our identity. The habits we keep, the boundaries we set, the standards we accept, and the choices we make all stem from the person we believe ourselves to be.
So before you create a vision board or write your next list of goals, take some time to create your New Era Blueprint. Grab a notebook, make yourself a cup of tea, and let’s design the woman you’re becoming.
how does she make people feel?
When we think about our future selves, we often focus on appearances. But the people who leave the biggest impact aren’t always the most beautiful or successful. They’re the people who make others feel something.
Does she make people feel calm? Supported? Inspired? Safe? Encouraged?
Think about the energy you want to bring into a room. How do you want people to feel after spending time with you?
what are her non-negotiables?
Every version of ourselves operates by a set of standards. What does she protect fiercely?
Perhaps she prioritises:
- Getting enough sleep
- Moving her body
- Spending within her means
- Speaking kindly to herself
- Keeping promises to herself
- Protecting her peace
Your non-negotiables become the foundation of your lifestyle.
what does a random Tuesday look like?
This might be my favourite question of all. Most people build their dream life around highlights. The holiday. The engagement. The promotion. The big milestones.
But your actual life is mostly made up of ordinary Tuesdays. What does she do when nobody is watching? What does she eat for dinner? What time does she go to bed? How does she spend her evenings? What routines help her feel grounded?
A beautiful life isn’t built in extraordinary moments. It’s built in the everyday.
what habits does she repeat without thinking?
Success is rarely about motivation. It’s about repetition. Think about the small habits your future self does automatically.
Maybe she:
- Drinks enough water
- Takes her vitamins
- Goes for daily walks
- Reads before bed
- Keeps her home tidy
- Journals when she’s feeling overwhelmed
- Stretches after work
These tiny actions may seem insignificant, but over time they shape who we become.
what has she outgrown?
Growth isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about letting go. What behaviours no longer belong in this chapter?
Maybe she has outgrown:
- People-pleasing
- Chasing unavailable people
- Constant comparison
- Doom-scrolling until midnight
- Negative self-talk
- Waiting for permission
Think about the habits, mindsets, and situations you’re ready to leave behind.
what does her space feel like?
Our environment quietly influences our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours every single day. When she walks into her bedroom, how does she feel? Peaceful? Inspired? Cosy? Organised? Creative?
You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect home to create a beautiful environment. Sometimes it’s simply making your bed, lighting a candle, opening the curtains, or creating a space that supports the life you’re trying to build.
how does she handle challenges?
Life doesn’t stop being difficult just because you’ve entered a new era. Challenges still happen. People disappoint you. Plans fall through. Things go wrong.
The difference is how she responds. Instead of spiralling, she pauses. Instead of abandoning herself, she supports herself. Instead of giving up, she adapts. Resilience isn’t something we’re born with. It’s something we practise.
what does she expect from relationships?
Whether it’s friendships, family, or romantic relationships, your future self likely has standards. Take a moment to think about how it is your future self wants to be treated.
- How does she expect to be treated?
- What behaviour does she no longer tolerate?
- What qualities does she look for in the people she allows close to her?
what is she working towards?
Not just this year. Not just this month. But in the bigger picture. Where is she heading?
Maybe she dreams of:
- Better health
- Financial freedom
- A loving relationship
- A home of her own
- More confidence
- Meaningful work
- Greater peace
You don’t need every detail figured out. You only need a direction.
if someone described her in three years, what would they say?
This question changes everything. Imagine someone describing you three years from now. What would you hope they say?
Perhaps they would say:
- “She’s so confident now.”
- “She always follows through.”
- “She’s built such a lovely life for herself.”
- “She’s kind but has strong boundaries.”
- “She genuinely seems happy.”
Write down the words that come to mind. Because those words tell you exactly who you’re becoming.
a gentle reminder.
The purpose of this exercise isn’t to create a perfect version of yourself. It’s not about becoming somebody else. It’s about recognising the person you’ve always wanted to be and beginning to act like her now. After you’ve answered these questions, don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to change everything at once.
Because your next era won’t be created through one dramatic transformation. It will be built through hundreds of tiny decisions, repeated day after day, until one morning you wake up and realise you’ve become the woman you once dreamed about. And honestly? I think she’s going to be incredible.
