Ever wondered why some weeks you feel motivated, creative and ready to conquer your to-do list, while other weeks even replying to a text feels exhausting? You’re not lazy. Your body naturally moves through different hormonal phases every month, and each one can influence your energy, mood and motivation differently. That’s where cycle syncing comes in.
Cycle syncing self-care is all about honouring the natural phases of your cycle and responding to what your body actually needs – whether that’s rest, socialisation or more softness. Rather than feeling guilty and exhausted trying to keep up, cycle syncing invites you to slow down and live a little softer with the help of rituals that support you through each phase.

menstrual phase – rest and renewal.
Day one of your cycle starts in the menstrual phase aka the winter season within your body. During this time of the month, you may feel slightly lower energy which is 100% normal because you’re literally shedding an organ. This is a perfect opportunity to let some restorative energy take root.
This is a really good time to take a step back so that you can rest and reflect. Don’t be afraid to spend some time with yourself during this stage of your cycle and turn your energy inwards.

follicular phase – growth and creativity.
The follicular phase is where things start picking up again. You may slowly feel your energy start to rise. This phase of your cycle is all about putting what you reflected on during the menstrual phase into action. The follicular stage is often compared to spring – things start waking up again.
Use this time to take action on your goals. Maybe learn something from your personal curriculum that’s been interesting you. It really is a perfect time to start putting action behind plans and creating momentum.

ovulation phase – shine and connect.
Our ovulation phase is literally our that girl era. This is the phase where our energy peaks which is why this phase is the summer of the cycle. Oestrogen hits its peak during ovulation which is where this huge boost to energy and confidence comes from.
Take full advantage of this energy – especially the social energy that tends to come with this phase! Go out with the girls, get creative, do whatever fuels your soul. The world is truly your oyster during ovulation.

luteal phase – nurture and grounding.
Finally we reach the luteal phase. This is truly the autumn of the cycle. All of that high energy from the ovulation phase will start to wind down slowly. The luteal phase is a good opportunity to tie up any loose ends on the things you might’ve started during the follicular phase.
One thing you can really benefit from in this phase is taking time to embrace slowing down. Maybe having some earlier nights, a few duvet days – whatever makes you feel the most cosy. This is my favourite time in my cycle for getting my life together – organising, prepping, life admin, all of that good stuff.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ cosy curriculum task ˖ ࣪ ⊹
This week, wherever you are in your cycle, take a moment to ask yourself “what would taking care of myself look like today?”. Allow yourself to do whatever comes to mind in that moment.
Cycle syncing is one of the most powerful things you can do to work with your body rather than against it. It may look slightly different for everyone but once you get to know what your body needs during each phase, you’ll be golden.
love ya, Cait xo
